Glacial Energy teams with Granite City Electric Supply Company for “Be Like Brit

Glacial Energy, one of the fastest growing retail energy suppliers in the US, is proud to be participating in a silent auction hosted by Granite City Electric Supply Company to help raise money for the Be Like Brit organization where 100% of the proceeds from this auction will go directly to the cause.

Be Like Brit is currently working to build an orphanage for the many Haitian children in need of shelter, love and guidance.  The organization was formed when 19-year old Britney Gengel died during the January 2010 catastrophic earthquake that claimed over 230,000 lives and left 2,000,000 homeless.  Britney had been in Haiti for less than a day before the earthquake hit and was there to volunteer at a small Haitian orphanage.   Only 3 hours before the devastation, she texted her family – “They love us so much and everyone is so happy. They love what they have and they work so hard to get nowhere, yet they are all so appreciative. I want to move here and start an orphanage myself.”

In Britney’s memory, her family has started the non-profit organization Be Like Brit to build the orphanage that she wanted for these children.  Glacial Energy feels privileged to be part of such an honorable organization.

Letter of Recommendation from a Happy Customer!

Good Morning Mr. _____,

I was given the task of lowering our utility cost almost two years ago and it has been an ongoing project as we have many facilities in different states. I did extensive research into several companies in each state. Glacial Energy was by far more competitive than the other companies; therefore we started making the move to direct access. The transition went flawlessly and I have been monitoring our monthly billings along with our facility managers. We have found the following since starting with Glacial:

1. The savings have been right in line with our original analysis. I have one facility in California that is reporting a higher savings than their analysis quoted.
2. Our accounting department is very pleased with the electronic billing and transfer for payment as opposed to cutting checks for due dates off of regular check runs.
3. With our facilities on different meter read dates and our need to have bills issued by a given date for forecasting I will give Glacial an A+ on issuing a combined bill (our requirement) for each state.
4. In the time that we have been with Glacial Energy the customer service has been excellent. I have been told by our facilities and accounts payable department that whenever they contact Glacial that they receive the help they require.

As I said above, this is an ongoing project for me. I am in the process of working with Glacial on moving more of our Texas facilities to their services. We would eventually like to have all of our facilities under direct access with Glacial.

I cannot think of anything more that I would have asked. Our representative was and has been very informative about the company and the industry in general. For us, all in all we are very pleased with the savings and customer service that we have received.

Should you have any further questions that I may not have answered, please do not hesitate to contact me at the number listed below.

Sincerely,

(National Nursery) – From TX to CA

CHBA enters into an energy supply agreement with Glacial Energy.

(January, 2010- Chestnut Hill, PA)

In January, The Chestnut Hill Business Association (CHBA) using its initiative Chestnut Hill Electric Alternative Program (CHEAP) changed its preferred electric supplier to Glacial Energy for all participating businesses. The CHBA is a membership organization for 125 retailers and restaurants in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania and currently has more than 200 professional members.

The CHBA switched suppliers when the electric market in Pennsylvania fully deregulated after the existing electric rate caps on energy companies expired on December 31. The deregulation of the electricity market resulted in Peco Energy, the current electricity provider, raising prices by 4.9% a year. The Glacial Energy advantage of month-to-month contracts and indexed based pricing seemed a far superior option to the CHBA President Greg Welsh.

The CHBA also qualified for the Glacial Cares Program allowing them to receive rebates from Glacial Energy based on their combined monthly kilowatt usage. CHBA predicts savings of $10,000 to $20, 000 a year with Glacial Energy and has encouraged the Chestnut Hill Community Association (CHCA) to also sign with Glacial Energy to enjoy the benefits the retail energy supplier has to offer.

Glacial Energy is one of the fastest growing retail energy suppliers in the United States currently supplying electricity in 16 deregulated markets and 15 deregulated natural gas markets. Glacial Energy is state option as AEP backs out of settlement with PUCO to freeze electricity rates.

(January 25, 2011- Central Ohio)

American Electric Power (AEP) abruptly decided to withdraw from a proposed settlement put forward by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). The primary basis of the proposal specified that the rate cap for AEP Columbus Southern Power customers would change to 0 percent from 6 percent, not allowing any increased pricing. In turn AEP would not pay $18 million in environmental costs or any penalty incurred from excessive profits in 2009.

A delay in the settlement from the PUCO until January 2011 was brought about by objections from customer advocates and thus resulted in the settlement withdrawal by AEP. By cancelling discussions of a new settlement, AEP may now follow the previous agreement which allows them to raise rates by as much as 6 percent in 2011. Although AEP has claimed there will be no raised rate in January, an increased rate will generate an additional $114 million and cost the average customer $78 in 2011.

Since the deregulation of the Ohio energy market in 2008, customers have had the power to potentially save money on their electricity by switching to another supplier. Glacial Energy is a licensed Competitive Retail Electric Supplier (CRES) in Ohio and one of the fastest growing retail energy suppliers in the United States. Glacial Energy offers customers month-to-month contracts along with an indexed based product which can help customers save up to 20% on their utility bill.

Glacial Energy currently supplies electricity in 16 deregulated electricity markets and 15 deregulated natural gas markets. For more information on ways to save with Glacial Energy visit www.glacialenergy.com or follow them on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
